Despite railing for years against the advice of my mother, imploring me to wear a less vertiginous high heel, I have been finding myself lately being drawn to a more sensible and practical mid-rise. And the joy is that the offerings out there are good. I hit up the Zara sale for two pairs of its printed mid rise heels which I have been wearing non-stop. Although, I must warn you, if you're heading out to pound the pavements, get the heels replaced first - the ones they are sold with aren't even up to a car-to-bar length amble.
And if the Saint Laurent SS14 show was anything to go by these shoes will be around for a while, and our poor ankles can breathe a sigh of relief.

Here are my Zara versions - still high-fiving myself about the £9.99 price-tag of the camouflage shoes.
