Yellow necklace

Yellow and navy has always been a pleasing colour combination to me. Maybe it's because of the Swedish flag - I love all things Swedish, from the food, to the countryside to the furniture. I've had some great holidays there, and even got engaged there. But really its appeal is that it's just a great colour match - especially for a summer which isn't all that summery. And a good alternative to the much favoured navy and white. I found this vintage bead necklace in a charity shop a couple of weeks go, and have been mainly wearing this with my Jigsaw jumper, or with a white t-shirt and navy blazer.

Here are some other pictures for inspiration - Taylor Swift's addition of bold red lipstick is one I'll be trying soon. A scarf, bag or jewellery item is the easiest way to update an existing navy outfit. Cos had a great selection of yellow bags and scarves.

  1. I love this combination! I recently bought a gorgeous navy pleated midi skirt from Monsoon with a belt which had been reduced from £75 to £22.50. I wore it on Saturday with a white sleeveless shirt buttoned right up and tucked in, a chunky gold chain neacklace sitting atop this, yellow wedges and a yellow straw clutch. Bag AND shoes too much?! It felt good to me!

  2. And sounds good to me - great skirt bargain! Any photos? I'll post a pic of you. Especially like the white shirt buttoned right up to the top - such a good look right now. Wouldn't expect anything less from you though Jonesy. x
