In the pink

A flash of pink can bring a lot to an outfit. It can lift the simplest of looks with just a bag, shoe or piece of jewellery. You can get too much of a good thing, and too much pink will take you to a place where only Barbie should go. But a slice of pink could be just what the outfit ordered. It doesn't have to be a bright, neon pink, although I'm a big fan of the current neon trend we're seeing at the moment. But it does have to be something stronger than a pastel pink - just a couple of shades bolder.

I hit lucky in the chazzies with this jacket, found on the reduced rail for £1.50 - score. It's a good alternative to my all time favourite pink Zara jacket, which is starting to look a little tired - not too bad, considering it's been by my side for almost a decade. It's a cotton / linen fabric, with a Star-Trekkish seam detail, plus black button detailing on the cuffs and front of the the jacket. I think the black buttons are a little severe though, and so I'll either just cut them off or replace with something else.

Here are some of my other pink pieces - accessories are an easy way of introducing a bit of colour to an outfit. And of course a pink lipstick or nail polish are also a good way to go - there's a lovely pink nail polish by Ciate on free giveaway with Marie Claire this month. And my current favourite pink lipstick is by Lipstick Queen in Saint Rose - I've not found anyone it doesn't suit.

Or here are some high street options - there's lots of good stuff out there, and I couldn't showcase all of it. Warehouse and Oasis are worth checking out, as it ASOS. And by the way, if you've spotted the deliberate mistake in the collage below.... yes, the yellow necklace - the pic of this necklace in pink is unavailable. The yellow one shown here is actually sold out, so if this necklace takes your fancy, log on  immediately and order the pink version - I have.

  2. I was new to Zatchels when I stumbled across this bag - then after I had a quick browse on their website, I have become a new fan. Great bags, in lovely leather for reasonable prices I'd say. x
